Hagar’s History

Hagar Restaurant Service was founded in 1956 by Lorn Hagar and his wife, Adele. Lorn started his career in the restaurant business as a service technician in the San Francisco area. After a little more than a year of working in commercial kitchens in the Bay area, Lorn decided to move back home to Oklahoma and start a business of his own.

The company was originally called Hagar Range Repair and serviced only the hot side of both commercial and residential cooking equipment. The business grew rapidly in the late 1960s. In 1972, Lorn leased office space in downtown Oklahoma City and hired two additional employees to handle the growing business. They also received their first contract as a factory authorized service agency and changed the name to Hagar Restaurant Equipment Service, eliminating all residential work. The company was incorporated in 1980 and the name was shortened in 1986 to Hagar Restaurant Service, Inc. The company has continued to expand, opening it's Tulsa store in 1987 and in 2004, established its Dallas/Ft. Worth branch.

With more than 130 employees, Hagar proudly represents 200 plus manufacturers and provides repair services for all gas, steam, electric, and microwave kitchen appliances, as well as refrigeration and HVAC equipment. Our service technicians are factory trained, industry-certified and have many years of experience. We offer an extensive parts inventory and a knowledgeable sales staff that is eager to help you.
